Pictures at the Temple

I always love taking pictures of my boys. They always ham it up for the camera. This last Sunday while my parents were here we decided to take the kids over to the Mesa Temple grounds and get a family picture with our 3 kiddos. This is what we got. It was so hot. The temp at 6 at night was 103. Way too hot. We were out of the car for 10 minutes and the boys already had red cheeks. Good thing for Gatorade. Enjoy the pictures.

Mother's Day 2009

So this year's Mothers day was different than years past. Usually I wake up to 2 little boys saying Happy mothers day over and over and get some breakfast that they made. I have always loved that on this special day I can relax a little and just enjoy my children while Kent takes care of all the cooking and spill cleaning for the day.
This year Thomas had a program for all the moms of his 1st grade class. I had joked with my sister-in-law Beckie that she was going to be on call for the program. The program was on the 8th and sure enough I couldn't make it. Thomas showered me at the hospital with all the gifts he made. I was sad that I couldn't make it but happy for family that's always willing to step in.
I came home on Mothers Day with our new little girl. What an exciting day. We took our first picture with her cousin Anna. They are both just hanging out in their car seats. We had dinner and went to bed early. What a great Mothers Day.

New Baby Girl

Sorry it has taken me so long to get this post up. I am still getting used to having a new baby girl. It has been 5 years since we had a baby in our home. We are excited to announce that we had a baby girl on May 7, 2009 at 1:38 pm. I thought my water had broken the day before, so Kent and I went to the triage center at the hospital. After spending 6 hours there and getting home at 1 in the morning we came home very discouraged and tired. So we woke up the next morning with the same situation but I had my last Dr's appt. before my scheduled c-section on the 13th so I sent Kent to work for the day and told him that I would call if there was anything going on. I got to my Dr's appt and told them about what happened the night before and 10 minutes later I was driving myself over to the hospital while Kent was 45 minutes away at work. I got all checked in and begged for them to hold off until Kent came from work. This was not how I thought it was going to be. The hospital staff was concerned because my water had been broken for 26 hours. Around 30 minutes after Kent got to the hospital our little pink bundle was born. She is perfect and healthy. She weighed a tiny 5 lbs. 14 oz and was 19 inches long. She was a lot smaller than we thought. She has very blonde hair.

We named her Kaylynn Rae. She is a happy baby that just loves to be held. Her brothers adore her. They want to sit with her all the time. It's a rare sight to see David sit very long because he is very busy but lately he has been sitting a lot more and snuggling his little sister. I will always cherish those moments.

I came home from the hospital on Mother's Day. We celebrated with Kent's sister Tricia and her family. They had our boys for a few night while I was in the hospital. I am so thankful for great family and friends who took our boys for us during this hospital stay that came earlier than expected.

Practice makes for FUN!

The other night some good friends had thier new baby boy. The boys were so excited to go and see the new baby at the hospital. We thought that this would be a good time to show the boys where I am going to be. Thomas has been a little nervous about me going away for a few nights. They enjoyed holding the new baby and practicing what to do with such a little bundle. Thanks Paula for letting us come.

You know you're a boy mom when....

So Kent was laughing that the Easter Bunny would bring our boys Star Wars themed easter buckets. You know your a boy mom when you put Light sabers in the Eater Buckets and enjoy watching them battle it out on Easter morning. Next year we will add a little pink to our Easter routine, but for this year it was FUN!

We created a blog!

Okay, I have finally caved in and created a blog. Many family and friends have asked us to do one, but I have procrastinated all this time. I am really bad at journaling and as much as I want to sit down and scrapbook, well it doesn't happen. So for me this is the new way to journal all the fun and great things that happen in our family. I put 5 in our name in anticipation of our new little girl coming in 2 weeks. Our Family will be 5 strong . Wow! Well a little bit about our family lately is Thomas turned 7 last month and has lost 4 teeth in the last 2 weeks. He learned to ride a bike without training wheels on Saturday and is a very sweet sensitive 1st grader. Davis is our busy body 5 and 1/2 year old. He never stops and when and if he does he wants to snuggle with his mommy. He cant wait for his new sister to come so he can " put socks on her." He tells me this at least twice a day. Kent is super busy at work with the year end closing and for me I am trying to make it in the heat with only a few weeks left to be prego in AZ. YES its already hot here.
